Due to the concerns over COVID-19, the flag raising event at Ken Whillans Square has been postponed and will be scheduled at a later date.
Official Press Release:
In light of the issue confronting us all as we deal with the Covid-19 Pandemic, and after careful and considerate consultation with the City of Brampton, Peel Health and a number of other Community Groups, we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s flag raising ceremony at Ken Whillans’s Square until a later date.
Stay tuned to our website for further details.
The City has cancelled all events of 250 or more participants and have encouraged their councillors to stay away from those types of events. In our case, we were expecting a big turnout, most likely more than 250. So it made the decision a little easier to make.
At the BELC & BMLA our first concern is and always will be the safety of our athletes. In this case, that concern also includes parents, fans and the general public as well.
Please get the word out to as many of your contacts who were planning to attend the ceremony through all nature of correspondence.
Thank you all for your support in helping us make this difficult decision.
We will endeavour to keep you all updated as the news unfolds.
